E-Bike and Electric Vehicle Reviews
There’s a particular kind of dread that hits at 5:47pm in November, when the sky’s gone the colour of a bruise and you realise your commute home is entirely in the dark. This is exactly the moment a lit electric commuter bike earns its keep. Rather than bolting on a wobbly battery light that dies … Read more
Rain doesn’t politely wait for you to finish your commute. It arrives sideways, pools at junctions, and turns the last mile home into a genuine test of how well your bike was actually built — not how it was marketed. That’s precisely where an IP65 rated electric bike earns its keep, because “weatherproof” printed on … Read more
British weather doesn’t do you any favours if you’re commuting by bike. One minute it’s a crisp, dry morning; twenty minutes later you’re pedalling through a horizontal sleet shower with your socks doing an impression of a wet sponge. An all-weather ebike is simply a bike built to shrug that off — sealed electronics, grippy … Read more
Buy an electric bicycle off the shelf and you’re getting a compromise. Manufacturers build around an “average” rider, but nobody actually rides an average body — they ride their own knees, their own spine, their own 5’2″ or 6’3″ frame — and a stock stem length or fixed seatpost rarely lines up with that reality. … Read more
Buy the wrong-sized jumper and you shove it to the back of a drawer. An adjustable fit ebike is, put simply, an electric bike … Read more
Nobody warns you about this bit. You buy an electric bike for long distance sitting, dreaming of coastal towpaths and after-work miles, and then twenty minutes in your sit bones start filing a formal complaint. It’s not really about fitness at that point — it’s about geometry, padding, and a saddle that was never built … Read more
Your backside knows things your brain hasn’t caught up to yet. If you’ve ever pulled into your driveway after a 40-minute commute and waddled to the front door like you’d just got off a horse, you already understand why the search for the most comfortable ebike saddle matters more than almost any other upgrade you’ll … Read more
Your electric bike’s motor sorts out the hills. It does nothing for the pothole that just rattled your fillings loose. That’s the job of a suspension seatpost electric bike owners quietly swap in once they realise their standard alloy post is basically a steel rod transmitting every crack in the tarmac straight into their spine. … Read more
Your spine knows things your brain hasn’t caught up with yet. Ask anyone who’s ridden a rigid-forked hybrid over a patch of Victorian cobbles near a UK train station, or clattered through one of the thousands of potholes that appear on British roads every winter — the kind that seem to multiply overnight like something … Read more
Here’s a confession every commuter eventually makes to themselves, usually while scrubbing chain grease out of a work trouser hem for the third time that month: bicycle chains are brilliant technology wrapped in a genuinely irritating maintenance routine. That’s the real story behind belt drive ebike maintenance cost — it isn’t really about the belt … Read more
